Virginia Beach, VA - SEMI-FINAL UPDATE: To win a State Semi-Final match or the State Finals you need to have grit and wrestle your best match of the wrestling season. As the Virginia Beach Sports Complex broke down the gym floor from 12 mats on Friday to 6 wrestling mats for Saturday Semi-Finals, two mats for each 6A, 5A, 4A classification will be used. Four wrestlers at each weight class squared off in hope to get arm raised and punch their ticket to the Virginia State Championships Finals.

We will just be highlighting some of the NOVA wrestling teams that are leading in each of the 6A, 5A, and 4A State Championships.

The VHSL Wrestling Championships Finals are slate for a 5PM start time inside the Virginia Beach Sport Complex.

6A Classification Championships Semi-Finals Team Results:

Westfield went 3-1 as Nick Ta (132) was the only winner to advance to the Finals. Westfield showed much strength in the wrestle backs and climbed back up in the lead with 96.5 team score.

Robinson climbed back into the top of the leader board after the Semi-Finals as they advanced four wrestlers into the Semi-Finals: Caden Smith (106), Tristan Corbin (138) and Robert Kucharczk (175).

Chantilly advanced two wresters to the State Finals: Ezekiel Keel (113) and Benjamin Weader (144).

Battlefield also had two wrestlers that won in the Semi-Finals. Both Logan Katz (103) and Cooper Lockhart (157) will be representing the Bobcats in the State Finals.

Mountain View continues to keep hold of the leader board with 179 team points and advance five wrestlers onto the State Finals. Nicholas Sanders (113), Benjamin Meinert (132), Tyler Traves (144), Corey Bell (175), and Issac Castrejon (215) all advanced to the Virginia State Finals. Mountain View is the front runner having earned enough team points to have a lock on the State Championships heading into the State Finals.

Brooke Point went 4-0 in the Championships Semi-Finals as Cadell Lee (113), Parker Trahan (132), Chase Van (138), and Remus Montalvo (190) all won. Brook Point currently rest in third place after the Semi-Finals Finals.

Both Loudoun County and Sherando are still wrestling strong and advanced two wrestlers each onto the Virginia State Finals.

Loudoun County Bryson Rios (106) and Luke Roberts (144) both won in their Semi-Finals and Sherando Anthony Lucchiani (126) and Keagan Judd (150) showed strength to earn wins also advance to State Finals.

Team Fauquier also will have two representatives in the State Finals: Landon Spence (175) and Kingsley Menifee (190).

Virginia Beach Great Bridge leads all teams in the 4A class with 186.5 team points as no other teams in the hunt can catch them.
