Virginia Beach, VA - DAY 1 Recap Championship Quarters: As the VHSL conclude the first day of wrestling it’s clear that the level of wrestling in Virginia is at its best. If you win in the Championship Quarter Final round on day one, you are done wrestling for the Friday and your name is on a Semi-Final bout for 10AM Saturday morning. If you lost a match on Friday, then you will have more wrestling on the first day of the State Championships and must continue to win in the consolations side of the State bracket to get to Saturday and a spot on the podium. It’s Saturday as all wrestlers who weigh in have earn the status of a Virginia State placers.

6A Classification Championships Quarters Team Results

Westfield continue to hold the lead after the Quarter Finals and heading into the Semi-Finals with 60.5 team points. Carson Easlick (120), Nick Ta (132), Robert Rerras (138), and Robert Rerras (138) all won their Quarter Final matches and advanced to the Championships Semi-Finals.

Battlefield had two wrestlers that won to advance to Saturdays Semi-Finals: Logan Katz (103) and Cooper Lockhart (157).

Robinson is tied for fifth place with four wrestlers winning in the Quarter Finals: Caden Smith (106), Tristan Corbin (138) Garrett Nicholson (165), and Robert Kucharczk (175).

Mountain View makes a statement with nine victories in the Championships Quarters. Nicholas Sanders (113), Geoff Whela (126), Benjamin Meinert (132), Tyler Traves (144), Blake Jones (150), Elijah Beltra (157), Corey Bell (175), Issac Castrejon (215) and Clay Bachman(285) all advancing to the State Semi-Finals.

Brooke Point went 4-1 in the Championships Quater-Finals as Cadell Lee (113), Parker Trahan (132), Chase Van (138), and Remus Montalvo (190) all won. Brook Point rest in fifth place after the Quarter Finals.

Both Loudoun County and Sherando are inside the top five and both teams had two wrestlers each that advanced to the Semi Finals. Loudoun County Bryson Rios (106) and Luke Roberts (144) both won in the Quarter Final and Sherando Anthony Lucchiani (126) and Keagan Judd (150) showed strength to earn wins.
