Just like last week, we're providing our followers with a guide to follow NOVA wrestling this weekend. Most of the events are scheduled for next Saturday, but we understand that weather might play a role, potentially causing some regional play to be canceled or rescheduled.

We've organized the regions below, starting with the large schools in the 6A Classification, followed by the 5A and 4A classifications. Additionally, we've included some links to other regional play outside of NOVA.

Weather Update: This week's forecast includes a mix of rain, sleet, and snow, which may lead to changes in the schedule as posted below.

NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region B

DETAILS: Hosted by North Stafford High School on February 15th, this is the largest region with 19 schools representing Region B. The top three schools and the number of wrestlers entered in the event are as follows: Battlefield with 14 wrestlers, Woodbridge with 12 wrestlers, and Mountain View with 11 wrestlers. Mountain View is the one to watch, as they won the region and are the returning Class 6 State Champions from last year. NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region B

NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region C

DETAILS: Hosted by Fairfax High School on February 12th-13th, this region has 11 teams. The top four schools and the number of wrestlers entered in the event are as follows: The 10X State Champs Robinson with 14 wrestlers, Thomas Edison with 14 wrestlers, Fairfax with 13 wrestlers, and West Springfield with 13 wrestlers. This region may be the closest in NOVA and is up for grabs. NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region C

NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region D

DETAILS: Hosted by Centreville High School on February 13th, the top three schools and the number of wrestlers entered in the event are as follows: Westfield with 14 wrestlers, Langley with 13 wrestlers, and Chantilly with 12 wrestlers. We expect that Chantilly and Westfield will be battling for the region title, as both teams have shown strength all season. NOVA - VHSL Class 6 Region D

Virginia Beach - VHSL Class 6 Region A

DETAILS: Hosted by Oscar Smith High School on February 15th, this is an 11-team region. The top teams and the number of wrestlers entered in the event are as follows: Grassfield with 14 wrestlers, Deep Run with 14 wrestlers, and Oscar Smith with 13 wrestlers. Grassfield has been the number one ranked team out of Virginia Beach all season and are the heavy favorites to win Region A. We are adding Class 6 Region A to this NOVA Region Preview to complete the review of the four Region 6A State teams. Virginia Beach - VHSL Class 6 Region A

DETAILS: Hosted by Stone Bridge High School on February 15th, this is a 9-team region. Independence, Massaponax, Stone Bridge, and Potomac Falls all advanced 14 wrestlers to the regionals. Independence has shown strength all season, and we expect the Tigers to dominate the leaderboard in Region D. NOVA - VHSL Class 5 Region D

Virginia Beach - VHSL Class 5 Region A

CONCLUDED: Hosted by Frank W. Cox High School on February 7th-8th, this Virginia Beach Region is home to the returning 5A State Champions, Cox, as they gear up for another run. This region was already completed a week prior, with Cox winning the region with 259.5 team points. Great Bridge came in second place with 233.5 points, and Floyd Kellam finished in third place with 227 team points. DETAILS: Hosted by Rock Ridge High School on February 15th, this is a 10-team region. Woodgrove advanced 14 wrestlers, and Loudoun County advanced 13 wrestlers. We expect Woodgrove and Loudoun County to show dominance in this region. NOVA - VHSL Class 4 Region C

CONCLUDED: Hosted by Skyline High School on February 10th, this region completed the tournament on Monday, with Skyline winning the region with 281.5 team points and advancing 12 wrestlers to the VHSL States. Brentsville District took second place as a team and advanced 11 wrestlers to States. NOVA - VHSL Class 3 Region B
