As we conclude the post season Region Championships, eyes are now set on Virginia Beach as the VHSL wrestling State Championships will take place there on Feb. 16th an 17th. The 4A, 5A, and 6A classifications will all be wrestling at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. This two-day event will feature each weight class running a full 16-Man bracket for the 2024 VHSL State Wrestling Championships. The State bracket is made up of four Regions (A, B, C, and D) and at each weight class, each region qualified four wrestlers to this state field.

Below is the 2024 6A Region A, B, C, and D Wrestling Championship results of the top five teams:
There are a total of 51 6A high schools that will be represented in the VHSL State Championships as we highlight some of the top 6A State teams that have advanced the most numbers of 1 and 2 seeds, total number of 3 and 4 seeds, and team total advancements.
Both Chantilly and Landstown enters the 6A States Championships advancing the most wrestlers with 11, while Mountain View has the most number one and two seeds with 8. Landstown from Virginia Beach and NOVA ranked McLean has the most number three and four seeds. NOVA’s top rank team Mountain View and Chantilly both have the highest number of seeds and do not be surprised to see both teams battling for the state crown. Mountain View is the returning 5A state champions from a year ago and has moved up to 6A. But Thomas Edison, Robinson, and Battlefield, all have kids that will make moves and push to state finals and should expect to see these teams to be in the hunt. The 6A state championships most certainly should prove to show the most excitement of the three different state champions at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
