As 14 weight classes will still run through a line-up, changes only occur in 7 weight classes. This happens seldom as the VHSL executive committee approved these changes last May with new classes slated as: 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 144, 150, 157, 165, 175, 190, 215, 285. Last year the wrestling weight classes were: 106 pounds, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285. The adjustments occurred in the following class:
144 - was 145 215 - was 220 Six classes from 144 to 220 are bundled closer together and at a lower weight from 1-lb to 7-lbs. Here is the Girls weight classes for the 2022-2023: 100, 106, 112, 118, 127, 136, 146, 156, 170, 185, 225. While High School wrestling competition will begin matches in early December wrestlers currently will look to be certifying at one of the weight classes.
