As the 2023 year is coming to an end, the second week of high School wrestling is full gas with many mid-week wrestling duals filling up team's schedules while the big events are nested on the weekend. Here are a few results from the week of November 4th to 10th. Madison Mash-Up: The biggest event this weekend might have been the Madison Mash-Up Girls tournament, the first in-season wrestling event that took place at James Madison High School in Fairfax, which drew 26 teams and had roughly 85 girls entered. The Wildcats earned four first placers: 106 Peyton Van Hoven, 126 Nick Sanders, 132 Mason Knight, and 138 Geoff Whelan. Brooke Point HS. took 4th and had eight wrestlers that placed in this event.
Richmond Invitational Team Score Richmond Invitational: Complete results Battle in the Boro: Both Independence HS. and James Wood HS. traveled to Boonsboro HS, Boonsboro, MD, for a two-day individual tournament. Independence took second place (282.5 team points) behind C. Milton Wright (291.5 team points). The Tigers were led by 138 Esau Olivera, who took first place. The team had a total of 10 placers. James Wood HS. finished in 6th place as a team as 120 Max Mooney took home the gold. Battle in the Boro: Complete results Colon E. Baker Elite Classic: Chantilly HS. traveled to Chesapeake, Virginia and participated in a two-day individual tournament where they placed second as a team behind 2023 4A returning state champions Great Bridge HS. The Chargers were led by 106 Carter Shin, 113 Michael Santos, 120 Ezekiel Keel, and 157 Benjamin Weader, who all took first place for the team. Colon E. Baker Elite Classic Complete results
Other Notable Wrestling Results: Iron Man: Brooke Point HS. was the only NOVA team that had a participant in the 2023 Iron Man. There were 120 teams represented at Iron Man and Brooke Point only had one entry in 144 Chase Van Hoven, who went 3-3. Weekly NOVA Dual Results:
